On June 10, 2026, Director-General of the Department of Consular Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Long Zhou and Director of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Seitek Zhumakadyr uulu co-chaired the eighth round of China-Kyrgyzstan consular consultations in Bishkek. The two sides had an in-depth exchange of views on such topics as China-Kyrgyzstan consular relations, facilitating personnel exchanges, and protecting the safety and legitimate rights and interests of overseas citizens.

The two sides agreed to implement the important common understandings reached by the two heads of state, strengthen consular cooperation, further facilitate personnel exchanges, protect the safety and legitimate rights and interests of personnel and institutions of both sides, create safe and convenient conditions for practical cooperation and cultural and people-to-people exchanges in various fields, and contribute to building a closer China-Kyrgyzstan community with a shared future.
